Hope

In the isolated South Korean village of Hope Harbor, a mysterious creature begins to terrorize the community, prompting police chief Bum-seok and officer Sung-ae to investigate. As they delve deeper into the chaos, they uncover that the situation is far more complex than it initially appears, with misunderstandings and human conflicts escalating towards a tragic climax. The film blends elements of sci-fi and action-adventure, exploring themes of perception and disaster while showcasing the frantic efforts of a small-town police force. However, the narrative struggles with pacing and coherence, leading to a disjointed experience that may leave audiences wanting more clarity. Despite its ambitious premise, "Hope" grapples with clichés and a lengthy runtime, ultimately raising questions about its potential as a franchise starter.
